In 2021 leaders in Institutional Integrity and Risk Management initiated a project to identify and promote shared principles. Campus consensus emerged around four principles: integrity, community, transparency, and accountability. This month’s focus is accountability.

Many colleges are starting to formulate more solid plans for the fall semester, leaving many students wondering how their own personal campus experience will look. Mandatory mask-wearing and social distancing are only two of many policies that will be put in place regarding on-campus regulations at UNC.

As the fall semester approaches, university administrators are facing the difficult decision of how (and if) to reopen during a global pandemic. Currently, plans for the fall semester range from remote lectures, to “hybrid” classes, to a completely in-person semester.
