The University Policy Review Committee (PRC) met virtually on August 19, 2021 and discussed several policy updates.

Policy on Independent Contractors and Procedure for Requesting/Paying a Community Collaborator

Janet Rupert, Director of Accounts Payable, presented updates to the Policy on Independent Contractors and Procedure for Requesting and Paying a Community Collaborator. This policy was updated in 2019 to create an option for hiring speakers that was less burdensome than prior processes. The most recent updates create a similar process for community collaborators who provide guidance and/or support for University activities, projects, or programs based on their unique experience, knowledge, skills, and/or social capital. The new procedure outlines the process for requesting and paying new community collaborators. All of these updates are effective and will be available on the policy website on September 1, 2021.

Team Dynamix/Policy Management System Updates

Matthew Teal, University Policy Analyst, presented updates about the University’s new electronic policy repository by vendor Team Dynamix (TDX). He informed PRC members that work continues in cleaning the old PolicyStat links and html code which does not conform with digital accessibility requirements. He noted that the approval workflows are close to completion and he is hoping to have those ready for training in the next few weeks.
