Carolina has a commitment to ensuring that all students, faculty and staff are immersed into a campus environment that welcomes diverse backgrounds and encourages free expression. As part of this commitment, the University will make good faith efforts to provide Religious Accommodations to individuals covered by this policy and procedure. In the case that a university policy, procedure, or other academic or employment requirement prevents the practice of one’s religion, the individual may be eligible for an accommodation.

Reasonable accommodations for religious practice include, but are not limited to: allowance for University approved absences from class, ability to reschedule academic work or deadlines, permitting employees to make up time lost due to religious observance, and access to private spaces for prayer.
