Carolina Ethics Line

Carolina Ethics Line is a secure method through which to submit an anonymous report either online or by telephone. All reports submitted through Carolina Ethics Line will be given careful attention by appropriate UNC-Chapel Hill offices and officials. Anyone filing a report via Carolina Ethics Line should retain the report key and password and return to the website within 10 working days to check for comments or follow-up questions.

Internal auditing is an independent and objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve operations of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (University). The University’s Office of Internal Audit (Office) helps the University accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. The Office is guided by a philosophy of adding value to improve the operations of the University, ultimately upholding student success.

State Auditor’s Hotline

The Office of the State Auditor maintains the State Auditor’s Hotline to report allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, or mismanagement in state government. To investigate the information you report, please provide as much detail as possible concerning the who, what, when, where, how, and how much.

You may report your concerns anonymously, or you may choose to include contact information. Call the Hotline toll-free at 1-800-730-TIPS (1-800-730-8477) during regular business hours to discuss your concerns with an investigator.
