Despite the long history and popularity of Greek life both at UNC and across the country, many students are calling for the abolition of Greek life in its entirety due to exclusion, sexual assault, and community safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, giving rise to the “Abolish Greek Life” movement.
You don’t need a college level political science class to know about the First Amendment. People are taught at a young age that freedom of speech is guaranteed.
The purpose of this policy is to encourage individuals to report possible Wrongful Conduct to an appropriate authority so that prompt, corrective action can be taken by the University and to protect reporting individuals from any Retaliation for reporting Wrongful Conduct.
Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz announced the university’s plan for the fall 2020 semester on May 21. Citing experts’ prediction of a second wave of COVID-19 in late fall or early winter, classes will begin on August 10 and end November 24.

UNC’s Campus Safety Commission held a Zoom meeting on April 15, discussing subcommittee recommendations related to sexual violence and policing on campus.
On March 23, the University announced an Emergency Grading Accommodation Policy that will allow undergraduate students the option to pass/fail their courses, including major courses.
