Personal Observance Leave

Governor Cooper issued an executive order (Executive Order 262), which provides the employees of cabinet agencies one day (eight hours) of leave for personally significantly occasions. The order allows for other state agencies to adopt this leave. As such, the UNC System elected to provide employees this leave, so that employees may take one eight-hour shift of Personal Observance Leave. Unused personal observance leave does not carry over annually. With management approval, employees can use this leave at their discretion for any personally significant occasions.

Future of Policy Management

Ethics and Policy Director Kim Strom announced Ethics and Policy Associate Director Jen DeNeal’s departure. Kim reviewed the origin of the Ethics and Policy Office by citing the two working group reports (one on policies and procedures and the other on ethics and integrity) that led to the office’s creation and facilitated the PRC’s discussion about how to improve the University’s policy process moving forward.
