Dr. Kim Strom, Director of the Office of Ethics and Policy, has recently taken part in researching what types of ethical challenges social workers are facing. The research challenges readers to rethink the ethical complexities of working during a pandemic and how it is creating positive and negative consequences by using social workers’ perspectives. The study concludes that employers have to work alongside social workers to create an ethical environment in order for workers to perform effectively during the COVID-19 pandemic. To accomplish this, institutions must recognize the importance of social work by managing human rights, social justice, and risk assessment concerns.
