UNC recently reviewed and updated its “Pandemic and Communicable Disease Emergency Policy” to make sure the University was following all requirements from the UNC System Office and the North Carolina Office of State Human Resources.
The University’s policy applies to all University employees and is intended to “outline provisions covering the following human resource areas in case of a communicable disease or other serious public health threat that is declared by the public health officials to be a public health emergency, including:
- Designation of mandatory employees
- Compensation for mandatory employees
- Accounting for absences
- Emergency furlough provisions.”
You can review the full policy on the University’s policy website.
